1. Welcome to Tauck's most comprehensive journey. Your tour Begins: Kailua-Kona Airport.
Most flights arrive late afternoon. Warm alohas await you upon your arrival in Kona. The Fairmont Orchid, set on the shores of the stunning Kohala Coast welcomes you in either a deluxe oean front or garden view room. Join us this evening for a welcome reception and dinner at the resort.
2.Island of Hawaii at Leisure
Enjoy a leisurly breakfast and spend the day as you please. Tonight brings a special expereince at historic Kahua Ranch, a working ranch. You will be hosted to a barbecue.
3. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Start the day with breakfast. Today's sightseeing begins with drive to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, renown for it's ongoing volcanic activity since 1983. Comprising an area of one quater of a million acres, discover some of the rarest species of flora and fauna. Lunch at the Volcano Country Club. Enjoy a visit to the dramatic Pu'uhonua O' Honaunau National Park, "Place of Refuge". Ancient Hawaiians found absoulation here after breaking a "kapu" or Hawaiian law. Other sites along the way will be The Painted Church. Dinner is on your own.
4. Kailua-Kona to Kauai
After a hearty breakfast you will be off to visit The Kona Coffee Living History Farm. This is a working 7 acre coffee and macadamia nut farm. The period costumed interpreters bring the history of coffee farming to life. You will be able to enjoy leisure time in the charming harbor side village of Kailua-Kona before your afternoon flight takes you to the "Garden Isle" of Kauai.
5. Island of Kauai at Leisure
You will spend two nights at the luxurious Princeville Resort. Situtated on a verdent bluff the resort overlooks the breathtaking Pacific Ocean and serene Hanalei Bay. A day of leisure in Kauai presents many optional possibilities. Sporting activities might include a round of golf on a championship Robert Trent Jones II course, a tennis match on top-ranked courts, or a snorkeling adventure in the blue Pacific. A visit to the town of Lihue provides an opportunity to explore Kauai's multi-ethnic heritage and sugar heyday; take an intriguing look at the past, where museums and specialty shops reflect days gone by. You may also wish to take a helicopter ride. Enjoy a rare glimps of secluded green valleys, soaring cliffs, and cascading mountain waterfalls. 6. Kauai to Maui
After breakfast and a short flight from Kauai you will be on the "Valley Isle" of Maui. Along the way to your home for the next three days, The Kapalua Bay Hotel, you will visit Iao Valley and the old island capitol of Lahaina. This is a quaint town of narrrow streets, boutique shops, art galleries and great resturants. Dinner is on your own.
7.Island of Maui at Leisure
Today is a day to spend on your own. You may choose to paly golf, take a whale watch-watching cruise (depending upon the time of year), explore, swim, snorkel (Snorkels, fins, masks, rafts are available at no extra costs.) Breakfast and dinner are inculuded.
8. Mount Hakeakala
After breakfast you will embark on an unforgetable journey to the top of Mount Haleakala, Maui's legendary "House of the Sun". The haunting beauty of the world's largest dormant volcano is a most impressive site. Take warm clothes as it can be cold at the summit. The evening you will have the opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of the Hawaiian people at the Old Lahaina Luau. Enjoy traditional food, music, dance and great Hawaiian hospitality.
9.The Heart of Hawaii, Oahu
Your journey continues on to Oahu. The richly historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel will be your home for the next three days. You may choose either a tower oceanfront or a deluxe garden room. Enjoy the afternoon exploring Waikiki followed by dinner in The Surf Room.
10. Pearl Harbor/Honolulu
Start your day with breakfast on the terrace of the oceanfront Surf Room. Your tour of Oahu begins with a stirring visit to Pearl Harbor. The USS Arizona Memorial is a lasting testament to the 2,433 gallant servicemen who lost their lives at Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941. See Iolani Palace, Washington Place (the official residence of the governor of Hawaii) and the grandiose state capitol building. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, perhaps enjoying the warm sands of Hawaii's most famous beach.
11. Waikiki at leisure/ Bishop Museum
The morning hours are at your leisure; perhaps you would like to take an early afternoon journey to Nuuanu Pali Lookout for sweeping views of Oahu's windward shores. Or travel along the southeastern coast past one of Hawaii's well-known landmarks, Diamond Head, to Hanauma Bay. Located in the crater of an extinct volcano, Hanauma Bay's sapphire waters host a fascinating marine sanctuary. This evening will be a very special and exclusive farwell at The Bishop Museum. Considered one of the world's finest Polynesian anthropological museums, a docent gives insight to the vast collection of historical relics and artifacts, which you can explore at your leisure. Enjoy craft demonstrations, traditional entertainment, cocktails and dinner in this unique setting.
