Location
Hanalei Bay is on the stunning north shore of Kauai and forms part of one of the most beautiful and dramatic coastlines in the world. Here the blue Pacific Ocean meets miles of secluded white sand beaches and hidden coves.
The resort is bordered by the soaring precipitous cliffs of the Na Pali coast with its deep green misty valleys and thread-like tracery of distant waterfalls.
Many famous movies were filmed here, including South Pacific and Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Princeville Hotel lies across the bay from this scenic wonderland and invites the discerning traveler to experience this idyllic retreat.

| Description |
Princeville Resort, set gracefully on 23 acres on Pu'u Poa Ridge, and terraced along the bluff facing Hanalei Bay. The hotel has 252 impeccably appointed rooms and suites, all with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, Hanalei Bay and the Na Molokama Mountains.
With lush landscaping and brilliant tropical flowers in abundance, the Princeville Resort mirrors the natural beauty of its setting. In 1860, Robert Crichton Wyllie, a Scottish physician and foreign minister of the Hawaiian Kingdom, named his Hanalei estate 'Princeville' after a young Hawaiian prince. Wyllie created a plantation and maintained an elegant lifestyle in the richest traditions of refined living.
Princeville maintains this link with the past, not only through the elegant hotel but also with present day Princeville that offers a thousand acres of green fairways encompassing lakes, woods, ocean-side cliffs, and the superb Makai course, which is rated amongst the best in America.
The Princeville Hotel with its panoramic views and gracefully terraced gardens set high above Hanalei bay reopened in the Spring of 1991 after a major rebuilding and refurbishment program. The hotel offers guests a stunning location and a 'Five Star' range of facilities. It is within easy reach of magical Hanalei but as many have found, it is difficult to leave this enchanting resort.
Golf at Princeville:
Golf Digest rated the Prince Course number one and the Makai Course numbers seven in the State of Hawaii in 2000. Princeville was also recognized by Golf Magazine as a "Gold Medal Resort" that same year. For more about Golf select the link from the Facilities menu opposite.
