Named after King Kalakaua's consort, Queen Kapiolani, the hotel has chosen a Hawaiian Monarchy theme for its interior design, coupling the ambiance of the 19th Century Hawaiian Royalty with the comforts of all modern conveniences. The guest rooms have been recently renovated and most offer views of Kapiolani Park and Diamond Head
The swimming pool and sun-deck is located on the third floor overlooking the park. The open air Garden Lanai restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the Peacock Dining room serves speciality buffets.
