| Description |
A predominant feature of the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel site is the presence of a series of underground springs. In ancient times, during seasons of heavy rainfall these springs would bubble to the surface creating natural artesian fountains. The resultant streams would provide a source of respite and renewal for travelers along the otherwise dry and barren Kohala Coast. Thus the area was named "Hapuna" or "Spring of Life" in the Hawaiian language.
Situated on 32 oceanfront acres, the hotel is built in a flowing, contemporary Hawaiian style, with an open-air lobby that provides a sweeping view of the Kohala coastline.
The Resort has its own stables in Waimea, 12 miles from the hotel where excellent horses are available for guided trail rides across the scenic Parker Ranch uplands.
The Hapuna Beach Resort also has an award-winning ocean-side Tennis Park, located in the grounds of the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel which features 13 Plexipave courts, a state-of-the-art video training facility, an open-air bar with breathtaking views of the Pacific and a Pro Shop with full selection of the prestigious resort's logo apparel.
