Green Hawaii
A leading UK environmental laboratory "Stats Environmental of St Albans", who analysed scientific data obtained from the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, confirmed to us the excellent quality of both air and bathing water following their detailed examination of the data. The purity of the air and ocean waters to be found in Hawaii, owes much to the island's isolation some 2,000 miles from the nearest continental land mass as well as the Hawaiian peoples tough pro-environmental legislation and programmes.
Is It True?
Yes, quite true, there are no snakes.

Safety Issues
Enjoy its beauty but always treat The Ocean, its environment and its sea-life with the greatest respect. This applies not just to Hawaii but all maritime areas.
- Swim only in life-guarded areas
- Never swim alone
- Don't dive into unknown water or into shallow breaking waves
- Ask a lifeguard about beach and surf conditions before swimming
- If you are unable to swim out of a strong current, signal for help
- Swim diagonally to the current, not against it
- Rely on your swimming ability rather than a flotation device
- Look for, read and obey all beach safety signs and symbols
- Never turn your back on the ocean
- Coral, be careful it is a living organism and can be easily damaged. If you are cut by the coral you will need medical advice and may need treatment
- Scuba & snorkelling - always take professional advice
- The islands, mountains, grasslands, forests and deserts are areas of outstanding natural beauty; there are some 7 national parks and a further 52 state parks which encompass some 25,000 acres. Many areas are uninhabited and it is essential to take reasonable precautions for your well being, when planning to go hiking or exploring. Accidents happen and people do get lost. Always take professional advice and make sure that you have the correct clothing, equipment and footwear.

Charter or Scheduled Flights
All flights are by scheduled services and each holiday is designed for you to meet your own personal requirements and wishes. |
Currency
The US Dollar is the legal currency of the Hawaiian Islands. We strongly recommend that you take your funds in US Dollar traveller's cheques. It is also advisable to take some US Dollars in cash, sufficient to cover your needs at US airports and for your arrival. If you bring £'s Sterling you will find them difficult to change and you are likely to receive a very poor rate of exchange. It is essential that you carry a credit card as hotels and car rental companies hold credit card details as guarantee. Failure to produce a credit card could mean that they will ask for a large cash deposit.

Hawaii Aloha Syndrome
This is a serious condition in which the visitor, who is often an experienced traveller, finds that at the end the stay he or she is so overwhelmed by Hawaii that, having at last discovered these beautiful islands they cannot bear to leave. Usually the first serious symptom is the sheer inventiveness and originality of the excuses made to stay on. Most airlines are aware of the Aloha Syndrome and for a fee will allow you to change the return flight date, however there is a limit to how many believable excuses can be invented as well as flights altered. However there is a cure. Call Hawaiian Holidays and start planning your return visit.
