On the East coast of Maui is Hana, old Hawaii, reached only by a 52 mile road that winds it's way through 600 bends and over 54 bridges, beside the Pacific Ocean and beside tropical rainforests with many beautiful waterfalls cascading through the forests to the ocean. At Hana the paved road ends.

Hana has one hotel and the famous Hasegawa General Store, which had a song written about it in the 1950's. Above Hana it is mainly ranch lands and Panioles, Hawaiian Cowboys. Hana has some beautiful idyllic beaches, which the author James Mitchener described as the most beautiful in the Pacific.
